01. Project Overview
Izi is a heart-shaped plush toy created to support the charitable work of the Za Dobroto Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the hospital environment and the care provided to children.
The packaging was designed to do more than present a product. It needed to communicate the purpose behind the purchase, introduce the foundation's mission and create an emotional connection between the toy and its future owner.
The central idea was simple: every toy carries a message of kindness, care and support for children in hospitals.
02. Concept & Visual Direction
The visual concept combines a playful, child-friendly aesthetic with clear communication of the charitable cause. Bright blue, turquoise, yellow and green create a cheerful identity that feels approachable and optimistic.
The heart-shaped window is the key feature of the packaging. It allows the plush toy to become part of the visual design itself, making the product immediately visible and reinforcing the emotional message behind it.
The design brings together the toy's identity, the foundation's branding and the information customers need to understand how their purchase contributes to the cause.
03. Original Packaging Design
The original design was developed as a complete packaging system, including the front panel, product window, side panels, back panel and technical dieline.
The front combines the Izi logo, the foundation's identity and a heart-shaped cutout that frames the toy. The supporting panels communicate the charitable mission, introduce the values behind the initiative, provide information about the foundation and include a QR code linking customers to further information.
Special attention was given to information hierarchy, readability and the relationship between the playful illustrations and the more informative sections.
The final artwork was arranged across the flat packaging template for production.
This is my original packaging design, developed around the Izi brand, the foundation's mission and the heart-shaped product window. The artwork defines the visual direction, color palette, information hierarchy and overall packaging layout.
05. Final Product
The final product photographs show the packaging as manufactured. The heart-shaped window keeps the plush toy at the center of attention, while the colorful graphics and supporting information communicate the charitable purpose of the product.
Seeing the packaging move from a flat design to a physical product was an important part of the project, connecting the visual concept with its real-world application.
The final printed packaging incorporates additional color and graphic adjustments introduced during the production stage. These changes resulted in a brighter visual presentation while retaining the central concept of the Izi charity toy packaging.
